"NEW H2O WET HELPED
ME EARN MY FIRST SCCA SOLO NATS TROPHY!" Submitted by: Chris Robbins
LINCOLN,
NE -- My 2006 Mazda MX-5 (3rd generation Miata) is prepped for C Street
Prepared class autocross competition, where I compete against the smaller &
much lighter 1st and 2nd gen Miatas.
My drivetrain/suspension mods include AST 5220
coilovers, Hyperco springs, Hotchkis RX-8 front swaybar (no rear bar), full
polyurethane bushings, and Mazdaspeed LSD. The engine is producing close to 200
hp and 170 tq (crank). It weighed 2360 at Nats this year, or nearly 400 lbs
more than my competition.
My best finish at Nats was 11th in 2010,
although the car does have a National Championship title (Juliann Pokorny won
the CSP Ladies class in 2009, in the rain on Day 2, on Hoosier Wets). More

HOOSIER ENDS SUPPORT
OF TSMA SERIES
LAKEVILLE,
IN (January 30, 2012) -- Hoosier Racing Tire regrets to inform the drivers,
owners and promoters who race with the TSMA organization that it will be
unable to continue its support of the sanctioning body in 2012.
“It
is never an easy decision to end a relationship like this,” stated Hoosier
Product Manager Shanon Rush. “Although we were close to coming to an
agreement for 2012, the recent rule changes proposed by TSMA would not allow
competitors racing on Hoosier Tires to have a fair chance at the championship.
We also reviewed last year’s point standings and very little of our
sponsorship was reaching our dedicated Hoosier customers. It's time to take
our support back to those who support Hoosier Tires.”
“This
philosophical change does not weaken our commitment to Modified racing,”
reiterated Mr. Rush. “It is our intent to continue open competition tire
development, race track and driver support, and support for organizations that
support Hoosier Tire and our Distributors. We wish TSMA and those drivers who
support it good luck and apologize that we were unable to reach an agreement
for 2012.”
If
drivers, owners, or promoters have any specific
questions or concerns, feel free to share them with us directly via e-mail to srush@hoosiertire.com
or visit our website at www.hoosiertire.com.

2011 Cayman
Interseries Season Wraps Up With Competitive Final Day of Action at
Daytona Historics
Schneider Takes First Win in Morning Sprint; Riddell Solos to Enduro
Victory
DAYTONA
BEACH, Fla. (November 13, 2011)
– A competitive final day of competition at Daytona International Speedway (DIS)
brought a successful 2011 Cayman Interseries season to a close as Bob
Schneider scored the first race victory of his career and Bill
Riddell soloed to his first overall endurance race win of the season
Sunday as the HSR Daytona Historics weekend wrapped up.
After joining coach and co-driver Chris Hall for a
third-place showing in Saturday’s endurance race, Schneider stepped up on
his own in the Sunday morning seven-lap sprint race and promptly won the first
race of his competitive career that began just this past June. Schneider also
turned the fastest race lap of the sprint at 2:03.828 (103.789 mph) in his
white No. 40 Cayman S that runs in the colors of the legendary Martini
“Baby” Porsche 935.

DANNY STEYN WINS THE PRESTIGEOUS 2011 AMERICAN
ROAD RACE OF CHAMPIONS AT ROAD ATLANTA ON HOOSIERS! Testimony
of a Champion...
“Prior
to this year’s ARRC, there was a lot of discussion on the Spec Miata forums
as to what tire we should run. The ARRC has always been an open tire format,
but for the past several years, Toyos were the spec tire for our class and
everyone had a lot of data for the Toyos,” said Danny Steyn.
“On
the test day we swapped each session between the Toyos and the Hoosiers and
the data consistently said that the Hoosiers were at least 3/10ths faster per
lap and stayed faster for the entire session. So we made the choice to run
Hoosiers and I was able to put down an almost perfect lap in qualifying,
running under the lap record and nailed the pole. Being able to start at the
front is a huge advantage at Road Atlanta as the infield from T3 to Turn 7 is
generally single file, and you don’t want to be held up there or you will
lose the draft from your competitors.”

LEE DAVIS SCORES
HARD-EARNED FLAG-TO-FLAG CAYMAN INTERSERIES SPRINT RACE VICTORY AT
RENNSPORT REUNION MONTEREY,
Calif. (October 16, 2011) – Lee Davis
drove straight from the pole to a Cayman Interseries sprint-race
victory Sunday morning at Rennsport Reunion IV but the flag-to-flag
win was far from easy. The 20-minute sprint was the first race
of a Sunday Cayman Interseries doubleheader at Rennsport and will be
followed by a 45-minute finale this afternoon.
Davis led into Turn 1 at the race start in his black and red No. 33
Cayman S that carries the colors of the Advan Porsche 956s and 962s
and Luna-C Clothing, but immediately felt what was going to be
race-long pressure from debuting driver Jack Kachadurian.
Driving a No. 14 Cayman S in the theme of a Richard Lloyd Racing Canon
Porsche 956, Kachadurian jumped from third to second at the race start
and kept the heat on Davis for the majority of the race.

CHRIS BUESCHER WINS 2011 HOOSIER TIRE
SUPERSPEEDWAY CHALLENGE
KANSAS
CITY, KS (October 7, 2011) -- Chris Buescher came into Friday's Kansas
Lottery 98.9 race at Kansas Speedway in a dead heat with Ty Dillon in the

When it was all over, the
18-year-old driver had captured the coveted award as the highest finisher in
the 7-race challenge on paved mile (or longer) tracks on the ARCA Series
schedule.
Dillon looked to be well on his
way to winning the award after leading 76 of the first 81 laps in the final
challenge race at Kansas before disaster struck when he came in contact with a
lapped car.
The contact would result in a
disappointing seventh place finish for the 2011 ARCA Series champion. Buescher
would take advantage of the misfortune and finish second to give him a 25-point
win over Dillon. More
