LAKEVILLE,
IN -- The Hoosier brand continued to dominate 600 Modified
Midget racing again this season amassing a record 205 wins at several
northern Indiana tracks. The win
total was reported by Hoosier Tire Midwest Dealer Paul Moyer who
services the tracks. It was the fourth consecutive year Team Hoosier
has won more races than the previous season.
Moyer reported drivers on
Hoosiers won a respectable 51 races in 2001. The following season, the
total number of wins rocketed to an unbelievable 100 as the balance of
power shifted to the Hoosier brand. Under Moyer's direction, Team
Hoosier wasn't satisfied with the previous win total and posted a
record 165 wins last season. This year, the Hoosier brand's ability to
again dominate was called into question when the competition brought
out a new 14" wide tire. Despite the introduction, Team Hoosier
loyalists held firm and brought home a record 205 wins--including five
track championships.
Nate Lauderbaugh won the US 24 Speedway 600 Open class
championship, while B.J. Wilson won the 600 Stock class championship and Wes Pinkerton was
the class champion in the 600 Non-wing class. At Camden Speedway, Todd
Kimmel was the 600 Restrictor champion, while Seth Wooten was the 600
Open champion at Miami County Speedway.
Hoosier Racing Tire
congratulates these drivers on their championships while thanking all the teams
and drivers for using the Hoosier brand during the 2004 season.
Moyer
stated, "Although 205 wins will be tough to surpass next season,
that is just what we plan to do."
