COVINGTON,
KY (December 5, 2009) -- The ARCA RE/MAX Series held its annual banquet at the
Northern Kentucky Convention Center Saturday night with nearly 400 in
attendance. Among those at the black-tie event was Hoosier's ARCA Event Manager
Dave Wroblewski (center) who presented series champion Justin Lofton (right)
and car owner Eddie Sharp (left) with leather champion jackets.
The pair received two awards from Hoosier including a $15,000 check for
winning the Hoosier Superspeedway Challenge and a $10,000 champion's check that
accompanied the two purple jackets.
The banquet took a look back at yet another exciting year in the ARCA Series
that had Justin Lofton and rookie Parker Kligerman battling it out until the
final lap of the final event at Rockingham Speedway.
In the end, Lofton took the championship by just five points over Kligerman
in the third closest finish in the 57-year history of the
series.
It was the first national series championship for Lofton and the first ARCA
Series championship for car owner Eddie Sharp. The championship-winning team
took home more than $200,000 in prizes and awards.
Hoosier also presented a check for $5,000 to Parker Kligerman's car owner
Mark Gibson for collecting the most wins. The rookie driver collected nine wins
in 2009 driving the No. 77 Cunningham Motorsports Dodge.
The ARCA Series will begin its 2010
season on Saturday, February 6, at Daytona International Speedway.
