LAKEVILLE,
IN -- ASA Late Model Series (ASALMS) Founder and President Ron Varney announced
Friday Hoosier Racing Tire Corp. will remain the official tire of the ASA Late
Model Challenge Series in 2006. The traveling series experienced tremendous
growth this season running on short track radial tires specifically engineered
for the series by Hoosier. Varney's confidence in the Indiana-based tire brand
was further evidenced when he also selected Hoosier as the exclusive tire for
the new ASA North and South Divisions which will also run exclusively on
Hoosier tires next season.
The same Hoosier radial tires that were a huge success in the 2005 season
will again be used in 2006. The ASA Late Model Challenge Series will again ride
on 6040 and 6060 radials with both the ASALMS North and South Divisions riding
on new ASALMS 35 and ASALMS 45 bias-ply tires made by Hoosier Racing Tire
Corp.
"We couldn't be happier that Hoosier Racing Tire will be the official
tire of the ASA Late Model Series all the way across the board!"
proclaimed ASA Late Model Series Founder/President Ron Varney. "Hoosier
gave us a great radial tire in 2005 and with the quality and support that they
provide to us, it only makes sense to give our drivers in all three divisions
only the best."
Varney added, "All of our drivers in 2005 simply loved the new radial
that Hoosier made exclusively for us. Plus the bias-ply (10-inch Slick) tires
are a proven tire all over the country and we are extremely happy that our
drivers will be on the best there is! The ASA Late Model Series is proud to
continue a working relationship with Hoosier and are very excited to have them
on board as a marketing partner once again. It's the perfect fit for the ASA
Late Model Series."
The ASALMS has been a huge success since its inception and has experienced
tremendous growth. So much so, the series created a North and South Division to
accommodate the growing interest in the innovative, cost-conscious series. The
popularity of the series has not gone unnoticed and looks to attract even more
people with the recently announced television deal in 2006 with the Outdoor
Channel.
The series wasn't the only thing being noticed this year. ASALMS champion
Stephen Leicht earned a ride in a couple of Busch Series races at the end of the
season under a driver development program continued to impress finishing on the
lead-lap in both events. No doubt, his experience in the ASA Late Model Series
and riding on Hoosier radials played a part in his success. The ASALMS will
continue to be an exciting and economical racing forum, while providing a
springboard for those with visions of being racing's next
superstar.
The new deal for 2006 with the ASA Late Model Series was the result of the
successful efforts of Hoosier's Oval Track Asphalt Product Manager Terry Newton
and Manager of Contract Sales Irish Saunders.
