KINSER BREAKS LASOSKI'S
THREE-RACE WoO WIN STREAK
TEAM HOOSIER WINS 30TH IN A ROW

6-14-04

Steve Kinser BEAVER DAM, WI (June 12) -- With rain postponing Friday's race at Hartford Speedway Park, the World of Outlaws Series traveled to Wisconsin's PowerCom Park for a one-night show. Defending series champion Steve Kinser captured his eighth main event win of the season (11th overall) on Saturday with Jason Meyer finishing in second place followed by Daryn Pittman in third. It was the 25th 1-2-3 finish of the season for Team Hoosier. Amazingly, the first 12 drivers to cross the finish line rode atop Hoosier tires. It was also the 30th win in a row in the series for Hoosier-shod drivers. All three sprint tire manufacturers were represented during the night with 34 of the 44 cars in attendance trusting the Hoosier brand. The Hoosier brand is seeking its unprecedented 5th consecutive championship in the World of Outlaws Series.

Paul McMahan was the fastest qualifier among the 44 hopefuls with a lap of 12.183 seconds around the 1/3-mile oval. McMahan was followed by Steve Kinser, Craig Dollansky, Brandon Wimmer and Jason Meyers. The 15 fastest times in qualifying were posted by drivers using the Hoosier brand.

Four heat races were used to whittle the field to 24 for the night's feature race with Scott Neitzel, Steve Kinser, Brian Paulus and Todd Hepfner each claiming wins.

Tim Shaffer won the first Dash in only his second event driving the Casey's General Stores #6 sprinter, while Daryn Pittman was the winner in the second Dash race.

In the 40-lap feature, pole-sitter Tim Shaffer took the lead from the outset of the race. Shaffer led the race's first 19 laps before being passed by fellow front row starter Daryn Pittman. Pittman led the next 12 laps before sixth starting Steve Kinser moved into the lead on lap 32 of the race. Kinser, using a Hoosier 94" RD12/D12 (LR/RR) combination, led the remaining nine laps to capture the $10,000 win. Jason Meyers, using a 92" D12/D15 set up, charged from fifth place to finish in second. Meyers earned $5,500 for the runner-up finish. Daryn Pittman rounded out the top three using a 94" D12/D15 rear-drive set up.

Eighth starting Joey Saldana finished in fourth place, while Tim Shaffer, Craig Dollansky, Craig Kinser, Donny Schatz, Brian Paulus and Jonathan Allard finished in fifth through tenth, respectively. Jason Sides and Erin Crocker completed the list of top-12 finishers--all on Hoosier tires.

Steve Kinser (3723) increased his lead in the World of Outlaws Series driver standings to 135 points over Danny Lasoski (3588) who finished in 17th place after crashing as a result of a mechanical failure during the event. Donny Schatz is in third place with 3551 points followed by Jason Meyers (3523) and Craig Dollansky (3509). Currently, the top 17 drivers in the standings ride on Hoosier tires.

It was the 30th consecutive win of the year by drivers on the Hoosier brand and the 25th consecutive 1-2-3 finish of the season for Team Hoosier.

Friday's race at Hartford Speedway has been rescheduled for July 25th, while the next race on the World of Outlaws schedule is this Wednesday, June16th, at Farley Speedway in Farley, IA. It has been 10 years since the series last visited Farley Speedway with Steve Kinser claiming the win in that event.
