5-13-2002

Toby PorterBIRMINGHAM, AL (May 11) -- Toby Porter made it two wins in a row in NASCAR All Pro Series competition winning the "Uncle Bob" Harmon All Pro 200. Porter won the third All Pro event of the season at Birmingham International Raceway on Saturday and pocketed $7,875 in winnings. Porter has now competed in the last two All Pro events--winning both of them. This win was a little closer than the one at Greenville-Pickens Speedway in April. Porter's margin of victory was a scant .002 seconds over 2000 All Pro Champion Bill Bigley, Jr.

As close as the finish was, qualifying was even closer as David Reutimann and Eddie Mercer posted identical times in qualifying (21.116 seconds or 106.554 mph). Reutimann was awarded the pole per series rules with Mercer claiming the outside pole position.

Drivers leading during the 200-lap event were: David Reutimann (1-84), J.R. Norris (85-98), Jeff Fultz (99-101), Toby Porter (102-144 / 200), Billy Bigley, Jr. (145-198), Charlie Bradberry (199). The race had just 5 cautions for a total of 34 laps.

Following Porter to the finish line was Billy Bigley, Jr. in second place. Bigley earned $4,030 for his runner-up finish. Rounding out the top three was Charlie Bradberry who collected $2,395.

Six of the 30 race entrants finished the race on the lead lap. Eddie Hoffman, Kevin Prince and Johnny Brazier took fourth through sixth, respectively.

David Reutimann remains in first place in the season long points battle with 480 markers. Charlie Bradberry is in second place with 471 points followed by Eddie Hoffman with 467 points.

The next event on the NASCAR All Pro schedule is June 7, at Nashville Superspeedway USA.
