SPARTA,
KY (August 10) -- Scott Carlson's car was handling so well Saturday
during the All Pro Series race at Kentucky Speedway, that when he
pitted, he opted for fuel only on his one stop of the race en route to
winning the WHAS 150. Carlson led 96 of the 100 race laps after
starting on the pole. The driver of the Advance Construction/Hamer
Engines Pontiac collected $13,675 for the win.
Thirty-eight cars started the race which Carlson
dominated. Finishing in second place was 13th starting Jeff Fultz who
also took over the series points lead. The runner-up finish for Fultz
was worth $7,630 for the C&C Boilers, Cleaver Brooks driver.
Rounding out the top three was Toby Porter after starting 11th.
Porter's take was $4,795.
Eighteen of the 38 race starters finished the 100-lap
event on the lead lap.
The series has now had seven different winners in the
nine races contested to date. Jeff Fultz and Toby Porter have each won
twice this season in the highly competitive series. Jeff Fultz (1444)
takes over the series points lead over Charlie Bradberry (1402) who
finished 14th. David Reutimann, Billy Bigley, Jr. and Shane Seig round
out the top five in the NASCAR All Pro Series standings.
The series next competes this Saturday, August 17, at
Greenville-Pickens Speedway.
