LAKEVILLE,
IN -- With the final event of the season at Eldora Speedway cancelled
due to inclement weather, Chad Kemenah officially claims the 2003 All
Star Circuit of Champions title for the second consecutive year. As
the curtain falls on yet another exciting season of racing in the
traveling series, the 31-year-old Findlay, Ohio driver stands atop the
driver rankings with 3971 points. His next closest competitor was
Jason Johnson with 3641 points followed by Dean Jacobs with 3313
points. All three drivers compete on Hoosier racing tires. It also
marks the third consecutive season the Hoosier brand was the choice of
the series champion. In fact, 19 of the top 20 drivers in the final
standings rode on USA-made Hoosier tires.
The "three-peat" by Hoosier-shod drivers in
the series began in 2001, when Kenny Jacobs won his 4th consecutive
championship after switching to Hoosier tires early in the season. The
high-profile switch didn't go unnoticed by other series competitors
with several other heavy-hitters also making the change to the purple
tire brand. In fact, the next season Chad Kemenah was among those
making the switch and he too was rewarded with a championship crown in
2002. With a year of racing on Hoosiers under his belt, Kemenah looked
to be a formidable force to overthrow in 2003. Kemenah used his
acquired knowledge of the Hoosier arsenal and combined it with his
racing talent to win five feature races this season and collect the
All Star title.
After winning 40 of the 48 races last year,
Team-Hoosier improved that mark win 45 times in the 48 races contested
this year. They also managed to finish second 46 times and third 47
times this season.
Hoosier Open Wheel Dirt Product Manager Neil Cowman
commented on Kemenah's accomplishment, "Chad had another great
season. I have been very impressed with Chad's driving ability and
progress over the years."
Hoosier Racing Tire Corp. congratulates Chad on his
second consecutive championship in the All Star Circuit of Champions
Series. Hoosier also wishes to express its gratitude to all the
competitors in the series for making the 2003 season so exciting. For
