LAKEVILLE,
IN (August 8) -- ARCA President Ron Drager announced on Friday at a
press conference in Nashville, TN that the ARCA RE/MAX Series will,
once again, be racing another three years on Hoosier racing tires.
Drager made the exciting announcement a day before Saturday's ARCA
RE/MAX race at the 1.33-mile Nashville Superspeedway. It was also
announced that RE/MAX will remain the title sponsor of the dynamic
series for another two years. Joining Ron Drager for the announcement
was Hoosier Vice President of Sales and Marketing Dennis Sherman, Vice
President of RE/MAX International Randy Morse and defending ARCA
Series champion Frank Kimmel.
Hoosier's Dennis Sherman commented on the new 3-year
deal, "We are very pleased to be a part of the evolution and
growth of the ARCA RE/MAX Series. ARCA is recognized as one of the
most exciting and well established stock car sanctioning bodies in the
country, and it is a great place to showcase the capabilities of our
tires." Sherman added, "We are proud of our association with
ARCA and the RE/MAX Series as they celebrate more than 50 years of
motorsports activities."
Hoosier's ARCA Track Service Manager Doug Barnes
responded to the news, "We are extremely proud of today's
announcement. We feel that ARCA's decision to continue a nine-year
relationship for another three years makes a serious statement to the
racing community. Barnes added, "Hoosier's history of customer
service and providing highly competitive race tires that are both safe
and affordable is a credit to every member of the entire Team-Hoosier
organization."
The ARCA RE/MAX Series began in 1953 in Toledo, OH.
The ARCA RE/MAX Series has grown to be one of the most challenging
series in existence today with a 22-race schedule in which 3,400 lb.
stock cars compete on both dirt and asphalt surfaces ranging in length
from South Boston's 4/10th's of a mile oval to the 2.66-mile Talladega
Superspeedway. To date, the series has completed 14 races while
enjoying seven different winners with four-time, and defending series
champion, Frank Kimmel currently leading the driver standings heading
into this weekend's race on 1-mile clay track at the Illinois State
