KANSAS
CITY, KS (October 7, 2011) -- Alex Bowman won the Kansas Lottery 98.9 at
Kansas Speedway Friday while remaining a perfect two-for-two in ARCA Series competition.
The young Arizona driver took
advantage of late-race contact between then race leader, Ty Dillon, and a
lapped car.
Dillon had led 76 of 81 laps up
to that point and looked to be on his way to his eighth win of the season
before disaster struck.
With Dillon out of contention
for the win, it came down to a four-way battle between Max Gresham, Chris
Buescher, Grant Enfinger and Alex Bowman.
Bowman
would eventually take the win finishing 1.289 seconds ahead of Chris Buescher
and Grant Enfinger.
Max Gresham finished in fourth
after winning the pole for the race with a top qualifying time of 31.371
seconds (172.133 mph).
Cale Gale finished in fifth
place followed by Matt Lofton, Ty Dillon, Chad McCumbee, Frank Kimmel and Chad
Hackenbracht in sixth through tenth, respectively.
The 99-lap race had just four
cautions for a total of 20 laps.
Ty Dillon needed only to start
the race at Kansas to claim the 2011 ARCA Series championship.
Another thrilling ARCA Racing
Series season will come to a close October 16th at Toledo Speedway. The race
will be televised LIVE on SPEED at 2:00 pm ET.
