LEBANON,
TN (April 7, 2007) -- Chad McCumbee used a late-race caution to pit for fresh
tires while the leader stayed out en route to the win in the "ARCA RE/MAX
Series 150" at Nashville Superspeedway on Saturday. The new
"shoes" gave the 22-year-old driver the edge he needed to pass Cale
Gale on the race's final restart with three laps to go to capture his first
career ARCA Series win. It was McCumbee's first win in 31 series
starts.
Forty-eight cars were on
hand vying for one of the race's 40 starting spots. In qualifying, Cale Gale
won the pole driving a Kevin Harvick owned Chevrolet after circling the
1.33-mile oval in 29.268 seconds (163.961 mph). Gale
dominated the event leading three times for 87 of the race's 113 laps. Chad
McCumbee also led three times for 25 laps with Tim Andrews leading for one lap.
The race was slowed six times for 43 laps for cautions. At the
finish line, it was Chad McCumbee taking the win by .266 seconds over Cale
Gale. Erin Crocker took third place followed by Scott Legasse in fourth and
Walkerton, Indiana's Chad Blount in fifth place. Coming
into the event, defending series champion Frank Kimmel and Justin Allgaier were
tied for the series points lead. But with Kimmel finishing 10th and Allgaier in
11th, Kimmel takes a narrow five point lead over Allgaier in the driver
standings after three events. The ARCA RE/MAX Series is
back in action April 22, at Salem (IN) Speedway. Hoosier
is the official tire of the ARCA RE/MAX Series. For
