NEWTON,
IA (July 11, 2009) -- We all might be better off investing in Parker Kligerman
than the stock market these days. The rookie driver is red hot winning his
third race in a row and his fourth in the last five ARCA RE/MAX Series events.
Kligerman's latest win came Saturday in the Prairie Meadows 200 at Iowa
Speedway leading 142 of 200 race laps en route to the win.
Thirty-seven competitors made the trip to Iowa to compete on Iowa Speedway's
.875-mile oval.
Rookie Joey Coulter posted the quickest time in qualifying earning his first
career ARCA Series pole award.
Coulter's time was 23.450 seconds (134.328 mph) followed by Parker Kligerman
at 23.530 seconds (133.872 mph).
The 200-lap race featured five leaders among three different drivers.
Leaders included; Joey Coulter 1-35, 137-148 (47 laps), Tom Hessert 36-46
(11 laps), and Parker Kligerman 47-136, 149-200 (142 laps).
The race was slowed just six times for cautions for a total of 32
laps.
At the finish, Kligerman held off Austin Dillon after the race's final
restart to capture the win by nearly three seconds (2.997) over the 30th
starting Dillon.
Polesitter Joey Coulter finished third followed by 16-year-old Chris
Buescher and Brian Ickler in fourth and fifth, respectively.
With the win, Kligerman also extends his lead in the ARCA RE/MAX Series to
120 points over Justin Lofton.
