NEWTON,
IA (July 16, 2011) -- Ty Dillon continues his amazing season in ARCA Racing
Series competition. This time, the 19-year-old driver notched his fifth win of
the season at Iowa Speedway on Saturday. Dillon led an astounding 193 of 200
laps en route to winning the Prairie Meadows 200.
Thirty-nine cars were on hand
for qualifying with Ty Dillon capturing his fourth pole of the season. Dillon
posted the fastest time after circling the .875-mile oval in 23.459 seconds or
134.277 mph. Cale Gale was second fastest with a time of 23.510 seconds or
133.986 mph.
Dillon dominated the event from
the outset leading the first 111 laps before 11th starting Chris Buescher took
a brief turn out front. Beuscher led 7 laps before Dillon regained the top
spot.
Dillon led the final 82 circuits
crossing the finish line 1.634 seconds ahead fellow front row starter Cale
Gale. All told, Dillon led 193 laps in the 200-lap event.
Chris Buescher finished in third
place followed by Grant Enfinger in fourth and Tim George, Jr. in fifth.
The race was slowed eight times
for cautions for a total of 37 laps.
With the win, Ty Dillon extends
his lead in driver standings over Frank Kimmel to 270 points heading into the
next event.
The ARCA Racing Series takes a
week off before returning to action, July 28, at Lucas Oil Raceway in
Indianapolis, IN.
