The fans who stayed after the completion of the NASCAR Truck Series race to watch the ARCA Series Kentucky 150 were treated to a spectacular race and an even more exciting finish.

Brian Ickler earned the pole for the race after circling the 1.5-mile oval in 30.126 seconds (179.247 mph). The time set a new track record eclipsing the mark (30.213) set by Erin Crocker in 2007. However, Ickler would be sent to the rear of the field for making "unapproved adjustments" to his #51 Toyota.

Thirty-seven cars took the green flag Saturday night. The race featured eight leaders among three different drivers including Parker Kligerman 1-26, 33-62, 88, 100 (58 laps), Brad Enfinger 26-32, 70-87, 89-99 (35 laps), and Steve Arpin 63-69 (7 laps).

The race featured two rookies, Kligerman and Enfinger, battling it out the last 30 laps.

In the final ten laps of the race, Kligerman repeatedly pressured Enfinger trying the inside line to capture the lead.

On the final lap, Kligerman made one final attempt going to the inside of Enfinger hoping his #77 Dodge would hold.

This time, Kligerman's car stuck while Enfinger's car drifted high, almost making contact with the outside wall, allowing Kligerman to take the win before a stunned crowd.

After the race an excited Kligerman commented, "The last corner of the last lap I went into (turn) three with the mentality that it would either be wreckers or checkers and it was checkers."

Finishing in second was Enfinger after starting ninth in the 37-car field.

Enfinger was followed to the line by Justin Lofton in third and Craig Grosse in fourth place.

Brian Ickler charged from the rear of the field to finish in fifth place after earning the pole but then being sent to the rear for making "unapproved adjustments."

The race was slowed seven times for cautions for a total of 36 laps.

Heading into the final 10 races of the 2009 season, Parker Kligerman extends his lead in the driver standings to 150 points over Justin Lofton.

The ARCA RE/MAX Series will be back in action this Saturday night, July 25th, at Berlin Raceway.
