TO CAPTURE ARCA WIN AT BERLIN RACEWAY

(Photo courtesy of www.arcaracing.com) MARNE, MI (July 7, 2007) -- Brian Keselowski used a late-race caution to pit for four new Hoosier tires en route to winning his second ARCA RE/MAX Series race of the season. The 26-year-old, second generation driver came in for new rubber with 25 laps to go  The move proved to be the difference when Keselowski (#29) drove around then race-leader Michael McDowell (photo) with 11 laps to go in the Request Foods-GFS 200 at Berlin Raceway.

On Saturday, 34 cars were on hand at Berlin Raceway for qualifying. Michael McDowell won the pole for the race after circling the 4/10-mile oval in 17.604 seconds (89.571 mph). It was the Phoenix, Arizona driver's 5th career pole in the series. Brian Keselowski was second in qualifying followed by Ken Butler III, Phillip McGilton and Justin Allgaier.

The 200-lap event featured seven race leaders among four different drivers. Race leaders included; Michael McDowell 1-41, 140-189 (91), Brian Keselowski 42-66, 119-139, 190-200 (57), Justin Allgaier 67-92 (26) and Frank Kimmel 93-118 (26). 

The race also had six cautions for 36 laps and saw 10 of the 34 starters finish on the lead lap.

At the finish, Brian Keselowski crossed the line .530 seconds ahead of pole-sitter Michael McDowell. McDowell was followed to the line by James Buescher, Patrick Sheltra and Justin Allgaier in third through fifth, respectively.

Frank Kimmel, who finishing seventh, continues to lead the driver standings with 2765 points. The defending series champion is trailed by Bobby Gerhart with 2635 points. 

Gerhart finished the race in sixth place earning the Hoosier Tire Hard Charger Award for advancing the most positions. Gerhart started 19th en route to his sixth place finish. 

Michael McDowell (2580) is in third place in the standings with Dexter Bean and Justin Allgaier tied for fourth place with 2570 points each.

Hoosier is the official tire of the ARCA RE/MAX Series, while Berlin is one of eight tracks the ARCA RE/MAX Series visits on its 23-race schedule where bias-ply tires are used. 

Members of the Hoosier staff servicing the event included; David Wroblewski, Kevin Wroblewski, Clint Williams, Chad Wright, Bill Slayton and Mike Haenes. 

The ARCA RE/MAX Series is back in action this Friday, July 13th, at Kentucky Speedway. The race will be broadcast LIVE on SPEED at 8:00 pm (ET).
