Just like at Chicagoland Speedway a couple weeks earlier, LaJoie was in second place in the closing laps of the race when the leader had issues handing the lead to the Concord, NC driver.

LaJoie then led the final three laps to claim his second win in less than two weeks in the ARCA Racing Series.

With rain washing out qualifying, the 35-car field was set by owners points which placed Frank Kimmel on the pole for the 50-lap event.

The race was run caution free and took just over 46 minutes to complete. The lack of cautions also resulted in a record average race speed of 162.221 mph.

The race featured nine leaders among five different drivers.

Leaders during the event included; Frank Kimmel 1, 8-15 (9 laps), Erik Jones 2-7, 22-29, 37-47 (25 laps), Chase Elliott 16-21 (6 laps), Corey LaJoie 30-34, 48-50 (8 laps) and Justin Boston 35-36 (2 laps).

With just a three laps remaining in the event, Erik Jones looked to be well on his way to the win with a healthy 5 second lead over Corey LaJoie when he brushed the outside wall.

LaJoie, who started 18th, was once again in the right place at the right time to take advantage of the leader's misfortune and motor by Jones for the win.

Following LaJoie to the finish line was Frank Kimmel who is seeking a record 80th series win.

Justin Boston finished in third place followed by Brennan Newberry and Spencer Gallagher.

Mason Mingus was sixth followed by Will Kimmel in seventh to round out the list of lead-lap finishers.

In search of his 10th series title, Frank Kimmel remains atop the driver standings (3310) followed by Mason Mingus (3105).

Hoosier is proud to be the exclusive tire provider for the ARCA Racing Series.

The series is back on track this Saturday, August 10, at Berlin Raceway.
