DUQUOIN,
IL (September 3, 2007) -- For many of the competitors in the ARCA RE/MAX
Series, it was just one day off before getting back on the track. Forty-four
drivers made the trip to the DuQuoin State Fairgrounds and the "Magic
Mile" for the 55th annual Southern Illinois 100.
In qualifying, AJ Fike set fast time with a 34.552 second lap (104.191 mph).
Ken Schrader was second with a time of 34.765 seconds (103.552 mph).
The race had seven leaders among six different drivers including; AJ Fike
1-19 (19), Justin Allgaier 20-36 (17), Justin Marks 37-42 (6), Frank Kimmel
43-59 (17), Ken Schrader 60-65, 85-100 (22) and Josh Wise 66-84 (19).
Schrader was the only driver to lead twice. He also led the most laps with
22. The veteran racer crossed the finish line .364 seconds ahead of Josh
Wise.
Josh " Kid Rocket" Richards finished third in a Tony Stewart-owned
Bass Pro Shop/Tracker Boats Chevrolet. AJ Fike was fourth followed by Frank
Kimmel in fifth.
The 100-lap race had seven cautions for 36 laps, while 22 of the 40 starters
finished on the lead lap.
Josh Krug won the Hoosier Tire Hard Charger Award. Krug started 24th en
route to a 12th place finish to win the award.
Frank Kimmel continued to increase his points lead over Michael McDowell in
the driver standings. After the weekend of racing, Kimmel now leads McDowell by
200 points heading into the final four events of the 2007 season.

Rick Tostevin, David Wroblewski, Chad Wright, Kevin Wroblewski, Clint Williams,
Fred Awald, Chad Nichols, Mike Haenes, and Eriks Bers.
The ARCA RE/MAX Series next travels to Chicagoland Speedway this Saturday,
September 8, for the ARCA 200. The race is to be broadcast LIVE on SPEED
and 2:00 pm ET.
