IL (September 11) -- Eighteen-year-old ARCA RE/MAX Series rookie Kyle
Krisiloff won the "ReadyHosting.com 200" at Chicagoland Speedway on
Saturday. It was his first career win in the series and came in just
his third series start. The Indianapolis native is part of the
Hendrick Motorsports driver development program driving the Ditech.com
#5 Chevrolet. Krisiloff led the final 25 laps of the 134-lap race and
becomes the sixth 1st-time ARCA Series winner this season. It was the
20th race on the series' 22-race schedule. Hoosier Racing Tire Corp.
is enjoying its tenth year as the exclusive tire provider to the ARCA
RE/MAX Series.
Forty-one cars started Saturday's race with Stuart
Kirby capturing the Pork Pole Award as the event's fastest qualifier.
Kirby circled the Chicagoland 1.5-mile oval in 30.936 seconds (174.554
mph). It was the third career pole for the Bowling Green, KY native.
The race featured eight different leaders among seven
drivers including Christie Passmore (1-11), Tim Steele (12-19), Frank
Kimmel (20-25), Brent Sherman (26-47, 91-109), T.J. Bell (48-87),
Billy Venturini (88-90) and Kyle Krisiloff (110-134). The 134-lap race
was slowed 10 times for a total of 59 laps. Accidents claimed 12 cars
during the event including Frank Kimmel, Tim Steele, Ryan Hemphill and
Chad Blount to name just a few who were not on the track at the
finish.
Kyle Krisiloff, who started 11th, was followed to the
line by T.J. Bell in second place--.652 seconds behind the race
winner. Bell started in 15th before finishing in the runner-up spot.
Christie Passmore finished a career-best third. Brent Sherman was
fourth followed by Chris Moore, Billy Venturini, Michael Simko, A.J.
Fike, Chevy White and Jennifer Jo Cobb in fifth through tenth,
respectively.
Billy Venturini earned the Hoosier Tire Hard Charger
Award for advancing the most positions. The third generation driver
started 22nd before finishing in sixth place.
It was the first race using the 5111 left side tires
and the 5722 right side tires. Many teams also elected to participate
in Hoosier's wheel program in which Hoosier provides premounted wheel
and tire packages.
As always, the event was serviced out of Hoosier
headquarters located in Lakeville, IN under the direction of Track
Service Manager Doug Barnes. Barnes was joined by engineer Rick
Tostevin, Dave Wroblewski, Jason Perkins, Mike Haenes, Dan Webb, Jim
Bartholomew and Jacob Hartle.
The next event on the ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule is
this Saturday, September 18th, at Salem (IN) Speedway.
