SALEM,
IN (September 17, 2011) -- Chris Buescher won his second race in a row Saturday
at Salem Speedway leading 104 of 200 laps in the Kentuckiana Ford Dealers
ARCA Fall Classic.
The 18-year-old driver, who won
at DuQuoin 12 days ago, now has four career ARCA Series wins on his resume.
Buescher also won twice last year with a pair of wins at Toledo Speedway.
In qualifying, 16-year-old Clint
King topped the speed charts with a time of 17.246 seconds (115.853 mph) around
the .555-mile track. It was King's second pole award in only his second series
start.
Chris Buescher was second in
qualifying with a time of 17.276 (115.652 mph).
The two teenagers led the 34-car
field to the start of the 200-lap race.
Buescher immediately took the
lead from King as the green flag waved.
Buescher would lead two times
for a total of 104 laps including the final 37 laps en route to capturing the
win.
Drivers leading during the event
included; Chris Buescher 1-67, 164-200 (104 laps), Frank Kimmel II 68-70,
150-163 (17 laps) and Will Kimmel 71-149 (79 laps).
The race had just six cautions
for a total of 39 laps.
In the end, Buescher took the
win by 1.186 seconds over Will Kimmel who started 10th.
It was Will Kimmel's career best
finish in the ARCA Series and came at his home track.
Will Kimmel was followed to the finish
line by Tim George Jr. and Jared Marks in third and fourth, respectively.
Frank Kimmel came from 15th to finish
fifth, while Matt Di Benedetto finished sixth after starting 17th.
Frank Kimmel II finished in
seventh place as the Kimmel family claimed three of the top seven finishing
positions (2nd, 5th and 7th).
Ty Dillon, who finished eighth,
remains solidly atop the driver standings with 4525 points.
Chris Buescher is in second
place with 4175 points followed by Frank Kimmel with 4070 points.
The ARCA Racing Series now has
just two races remaining on its 2011 schedule.
Next up for the series is a stop
at Kansas Speedway's 1.5-mile oval on October 7th.
The race at Kansas will be
