1.5-mile Chicagoland Speedway. Kimmel was joined in the front row by

The race was attended by Hoosier engineers Ken Kolter
and Rick Tostevin along with ARCA Track Service Manager Doug Barnes
who attends every race. Also in attendance were the entire staff of
"tire-busters" servicing the event out of the Hoosier Tire
tractor trailer rig and many Hoosier employees who made the hour and a
half trip to Joliet, IL from northwestern Indiana.
Hoosier's Doug Barnes commented on the race,
"Unfortunately, we did see a lot of cut tires this weekend from debris
on the track. There were several blown engines and faulty drive lines
causing much of the debris." Barnes continued, "The tire
wear was excellent. So much so, that some teams were pushing the
envelope on the number of laps they would run on a set of tires.
Amazingly, some teams ran more than 100 laps on a set of tires.
Overall, we were happy with the performance of the Hoosier tires
today."
Frank Kimmel now leads the ARCA RE/MAX Series driver
standings with 4910 points followed by Jason Jarrett with 4160 points.
Jarrett finished Saturday's race in 11th place--one lap down. Mark
Gibson is in third place with 3990 points followed by Brent Sherman
(3845) and Billy Venturini (3810).
The ARCA RE/MAX Series will be back in action this
weekend, September 13, at Indiana's .555-mile Salem
Speedway.
