BRASELTON, GA (November 6-7) -- Members of Team
Hoosier using the R3S04 tire received their Christmas gift early at
Road Atlanta this past weekend in the annual year-end regional
championship known as the American Road Race of Champions (ARRC).
Organized by the SCCA Atlanta Region, this event attracts regional
SCCA club racers from throughout the entire country. The vast majority
of competitors at this year's competition opted to run the highly
successful Hoosier Sports Car Radial DOT R3S04 tire to carry them to
the front of their respective classes.
There were a total of 291 cars that attended the
annual event with 223 competitors opting to use Hoosier tires. Of the
95 cars entered in the Improved Touring (IT) sprint classes, 89 of
them ran on Hoosier Tires.
Appalachian Race Tire's Rodney Perry and Mike Hayworth
of Louisville, TN were on hand to provide outstanding trackside sales
and service. Hoosier Road Racing Product Manager Bruce Foss was also
in attendance providing technical support for all Hoosier-shod
competitors.
The impressive results of the Hoosier-shod competitors
are listed below. Three drivers on Hoosier repeated as their class
champions. Fletcher Williams (ITT), Gareth Rebstock (ITC) and Chris
Albin (ITB) each repeated as class champions, while five drivers who
finished runner-up last year claimed championships. Jim Kellogg (SPU),
Jim Daniels (SM), Brian Burke (CC), Brian Dobson (IT7) and Steve
Robertson (CF) each captured wins on Hoosiers after finishing second
at last year's event.
The entire Hoosier organization extend our thanks and appreciation
to all the competitors who trusted the Hoosier brand during this
year's event. As always, we remain committed to providing the best
race tires available in the world.
Special thanks to Rodney Perry of Appalachian Race
Tire for providing the details used in this report.
