BRIGHTON,
MO (September 17, 2005) -- Look out Jeff Gordon, Tru Atkins is also getting
a taste of winning on Hoosier tires at a very young age. The 6-year-old hot
shoe not only won his heat race, the talented youngster went on to capture the
A-feature race in convincing fashion at County Line Speedway during his first
weekend out using Hoosier's new kart tires.
Atkins' Vector racing chassis was designed by Rick Quint and Kenny Foster
who also happens to be a new Hoosier dealer for Hoosier Tire Midwest. Atkins
was carried to victory lane on a pair of right side 35.0/8.1-6 D20's mounted on
10" rims with a 33.5/5.5-6 D20 left rear on an 8 1/2" rim and a left
front 33.0/4.5-6 D10 on a 6 1/2" rim.
Tim Baker of Hoosier Tire Midwest reported Atkins was over a half a lap
ahead of his next closest competitor in his heat race and lapped all but the
runner-up finisher in the A-feature race.
The entire Hoosier Racing Tire organization wishes to extend its heartfelt
congratulations to Tru Atkins on his recent win at County Line Speedway on
Hoosier tires.
