SALISBURY,
NORTH CAROLINA (November 25-26, 2005)-- Although
still in its infancy, the new Hoosier quarter midget tire line continues to
steadily gain more and more wins each week. Last weekend,
Columbus, Ohio's Tom Tolbert ended his outdoor quarter midget season a champion
by winning the Hvy 160 class at the inaugural Carolina Fall Nationals at Bobby
Labonte's newly built, state-of-the-art facility. Tolbert won in dramatic
fashion coming from the rear of the field in the final race. The talented
teenager captured the exciting win using Hoosier's new quarter midget
tires.
Despite pressure to switch to a
competing tire brand by the many locals competing at the track, Dave Tolbert
elected to keep his son's quarter midget mounted on Hoosier tires for the
season-ending event.
The senior Tolbert knew the Hoosier
tires were instrumental in his son winning the Hvy 160 title this year
in the Buckeye QMRA at Columbus, OH and
decided to remain loyal to the Hoosier brand which proved instrumental in Tom
taking the checkered flag in both the B and A-main races.
The Tolbert race team opted to bolt-on a set of
Hoosier A40 tires and qualified into the D-main. Tom fought his way from the
D-main to take the checkered flag in both B & A-mains.
Winning Tire Set Up Used:
LF: 31.0/4.5-5 A40 (Part #15150)
LR: 32.0/4.5-5 A40 (Part #15170)
RF: 33.0/4.5-6 A40 (Part #15300)
RR: 35.0/7.1-6 A40 (Part #15750)
Tom started sixth in the (A-main)
final race and quickly got "freight trained" to the rear of the
field. Unphased, Tom trusted the performance of his Hoosier tires and
one-by-one passed the entire field to win the Hvy 160 class in dramatic fashion
in front of a stunned crowd of onlookers.
