TERRE
HAUTE, IN (August 15, 2005) -- Young Austin Kochenash captured the 2005 Sr.
Stock Grand National Championship at the annual Dirt Grands in Terre Haute (IN)
while riding on Hoosier racing tires. Kochenash, who competes regularly at
Oaklane Speedway in Trumbauersville, Pennsylvania, started on the pole and led
all 40 laps en route to the win despite several yellow flags bunching the elite
field of drivers. Each time, however, Austin pulled away to ultimately capture
the checkered flag to join the likes of Jeff Gordon and Tony Stewart as past
winners on Hoosier tires.
Austin used Hoosier's D20 compound on all four corners using the following
sizes:
LF-31.0/4.5-5 D20 (Part # 15150D20)
LR-32.0/4.5-5 D20 (Part # 15170D20)
RF-33.0/4.5-6 D20 (Part #15300D20)
RR-35.0/7.1-6 D20 (Part #15800D20)
Austin and his family have been very busy racing having also competed at two
other Grands this summer. Austin was the Senior Stock Champion at Portland, OR
and was the Light B Eastern Grands Champion in Cummings, GA.
