The
balance of the day was spent talking about various products and developments in
the racing industry. Although the meeting is somewhat structured, it is an open forum where anyone can speak up regarding
any topic.
The result is an honest exchange of ideas and opinions. The open and frank
discussions are healthy and serves to build a better understanding of the
issues our customers are dealing with. By listening and responding to these
issues, Hoosier can improve products and services for all its customers.
As the long day ended and as
evening approached, the meetings were concluded with everyone invited to
dinner at nearby Swan Lake Resort.
The following day, everyone had the opportunity to tour the manufacturing
facilities in Plymouth (IN). For those that have never toured the factory, this
is usually the highlight of the two-day event. For those that have already toured
the plant, it is an opportunity to see new facilities and equipment that have been added since
their last visit.
The tour of the manufacturing facility takes about four hours to complete.
New on the tour this year was the sparkling new laboratory complex used to
test all raw materials.
As usual, those who went on the tours came away with a greater understanding
of the complexity of making a race tire.
The pride and dedication of the staff at the production facility is palpable
the moment you walk in the door. It is readily apparent they take great pride
in what they do--producing "Tires Designed for Champions".
