BARBERVILLE,
FL (February 8-13) -- The All Star Sprint Series and World of Outlaws Series kicked off
their seasons last week
in Florida at Volusia Speedway Park with the 34th annual Winter Nationals. The
six-night event was comprised of three nights of All Star Sprint Series
sanctioned racing followed by the World of Outlaws opener and a fourth
All Star race and concluding with another World of Outlaws event on Sunday.
While all that sounds a little complicated, one thing wasn't--which tire brand
dominated the racing. That was the Hoosier brand which was used by all six race
winners. In fact, despite all three tire brands in use throughout the event,
only the Hoosier brand was used by every starter in each night's feature race.
Race winners included Terry McCarl, Fred Rahmer, Kraig Kinser, Jeff Shepard,
Jason Solwold and Steve Kinser. Six different winners, but only one tire
brand--Hoosier. Five of the six nights featured qualifying with 234 of the 248
drivers using Hoosier tires. Thanks to Hoosier's Dave Campbell for the
details used in this report.
