(Photo courtesy of www.grandamerican.com)MIAMI, FL (March 28) -- The Grand-Am Cup Series contested their second event of the young season with Terry Borcheller and Craig Stanton again coming away winners in the GT class. Borcheller and Stanton also won the season opening event at Daytona February 1st. The dynamic duo won Sunday's "Grand-Am Cup 250" at Homestead-Miami Speedway driving TheRaceSite.com Racing #44 Porsche 996 after starting from the outside pole. Manny Matz, Jason Potter and James Sofronas were the winners in the ST class finishing fifth overall. The 2004 Grand-Am Cup Series has a 10-race schedule with Hoosier as its exclusive tire provider.

Craig Stanton started the race on the front row alongside pole sitter Anders Hainer driving the Istook/Aines Motorsport Group #04 Audi S4. Hainer took the early race lead through lap 29, when a full-course caution brought the #04 car into the pits. A stop-and-go penalty then handed the lead over to the Michael Baughman Racing #45 Firebird for the next four circuits before Craig Stanton moved into the lead. The #44 Porsche would lead all but one of the remaining green flag laps en route to the 105-lap win. The race had six full-course cautions and took just over three hours to complete resulting in the the race's end. The race was to be either 250 miles or three hours in length. The race's final caution resulted in the race being deemed complete after reaching the three hour mark.

Finishing in second place was the #58 Rehagen Racing Mustang Cobra SVT driven by Scott Turner and Dean Martin followed by the #81 G&W Motorsports Porsche 996 driven by Tracy Krohn and Joe Fox. Ohio's Joe Nonnamaker and Wayne Nonnamaker driving TheRaceSite.com #43 came in fourth--the last car on the lead lap. A total of 49 cars started the 250-mile event.

Hoosier Grand-Am/Rolex Series Track Service Manager Tim Gilvin along with Jim Bartholomew, Mike Haenes, Brian Herthoge, Ray Grant and Dan Webb serviced the event handling the tire needs of over 50 race teams.

The next event on the Grand-Am Cup Series schedule is at Phoenix International Raceway on April 8-10. The Rolex Series will also be in action in Phoenix that same weekend. Hoosier is also the exclusive tire provider to the SGS class in the Rolex Series.
