Grand Sport (GS) winnersMosport International Raceway, Bowmanville, Ontario was the place where the Grand-Am Cup racers, and the Hoosier Racing Tire crew found themselves this weekend. On a 2.459-mile road race course filled with turns, bends and curves, and bitter cold rainy weather for June.

BOWMANVILLE, Ontario, Canada (June 18, 2005) -- Mosport International Raceway. David Empringham, the Toronto native used all of his experience to take advantage in Saturday's Grand-Am Cup Series Mosport 200 as he charged into the lead on Lap 49 of the 82-lap race and never looked back en route to his second victory of the season for the Grand Sport (GS) class.

Empringham and co-driver Gunnar Jeannette combined to lead 73 laps in their No. 05 Multimatic Motorsports Ford Mustang GT, and Empringham held off a late charge by Boris Said in the No. 99 Anchor Racing BMW M3 to win by 1.317 seconds. Both Empringham and Jeannette now have two victories from the first six Grand-Am Cup Grand Sport (GS) races, and both drivers scored all of their wins in the No. 05 Mustang, which has now won three races.

Tim Gilvin product manager for Hoosier Racing Tire said "after putting up our back drop / wind shields to help keep some of the cold windy weather off of us, the track service team set up and we got to business, mounting tires and servicing all teams with the normal pride and commitment to service as always."

Sport Touring (ST) class winnersBOWMANVILLE, Ontario, Canada (June 18, 2005) -- For the second time in seven days, Jim Holtom found himself standing atop the Sport Touring (ST) class podium, as he claimed the ST victory co-driving with his 17-year-old son, Jamie, in the Mosport 200.

After starting from the class pole position and leading early on in the race, Jim Holtom turned the car over to Jamie for the second half of the race. The younger Holtom did his part by stalking the No. 70 SpeedSource Mazda RX-8 of Sylvain Tremblay through the closing stages of the race and finding his way past in it Turn 8 with just three laps remaining. Although they crossed the finish line practically nose-to-tail, Jamie was able to keep Tremblay at bay and appropriately brought home a victory on Father's Day weekend.
