LEXINGTON,
OH (August 6-8) -- Both the Grand-Am Cup Series and the Grand American
Rolex Sports Car Series were in action this past weekend at the
Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course with 92 drivers competing--65 of them on Tires
Designed For Champions made by Hoosier Racing Tire Corp. The
Grand-Am Cup Series, which competes exclusively on Hoosier tires, had
a huge 55-car field in its two-class Mid-Ohio 250 race. While the
Rolex Series, which currently has a different tire manufacturer for
each of its three classes, had 10 (of 37) drivers competing on Hoosier
tires in the SGS class. Blake Rosser and Kelly Collins were the
Grand-Am Cup Series GS class winners driving the Unitech Racing Nissan
350Z #13 (photo at right), while in the ST class, Sylvain Tremblay and
David Haskell captured their second win of the season driving the
SpeedSource Mazda RX-8 #70. In the Rolex Series race, there were 10
Hoosier-shod drivers competing in the SGS class. Wayne Nonnamaker won
his second race in a row driving the entire distance solo in the
Orison-Planet Earth Motorsports/Porsche GT3 Cup #41 car.

The Rolex Sports Car Series will be in action this
weekend at Watkins Glen. The Rolex Series Sahlen's 200 at The Glen
will be contested following Friday's NASCAR NEXTEL Cup qualifying
session at approximately 6:30 pm ET. SPEED Channel will once again
provide same-day tape-delayed television coverage of the Sahlen's 200
at The Glen beginning at 10:00 pm ET. The scheduled distance of the
race is 200 miles (82 laps), but is subject to an 8:30 pm time limit.
The next Grand-Am Cup Series race is September 10-12,
at Homestead-Miami Speedway where both the Grand-Am Cup Series and the
Rolex Series will be in action.
