MONT-TREMBLANT,
QUEBEC, CANADA (May 22-23) -- The Grand American Road Racing
Association contested its fourth event of the year Saturday at Le
Circuit Mont-Tremblant. Hoosier is the exclusive tire supplier to the
Grand-Am Cup Series (in both the GS and ST classes) and is also the
only tire used by the SGS class in the Rolex Series which has three
classes in competition. On Saturday in the Grand-Am
Cup Series GS class, Powell Motorsport's Cadillac CTS-V crossed the finish line
first followed by Doncaster Racing's Porsche 996 (photo) and Rehagen
Racing's Mustang Cobra SVT. A post race inspection found the first and
third place teams guilty of "fuel capacity
violations". As a result, the team and drivers of the Powell Motorsport's #11 were awarded
28th place points and the Rehagen Racing's #58 were given 29th place
points. Both teams retain their overall finishing positions but will
forfeit their prize money. In the ST
class, Team Lexus was the first to cross the line (11th overall)
followed by Turner Motorsport (12th overall) and Bill Fenton
Motorsports (13th overall). There were 52 cars in attendance with 47
cars in the two classes competing in the Grand-Am Cup Series on
Saturday. In the Rolex race on Sunday, there were 38 cars in
competition with 10 cars competing on Hoosiers in the SGS class. TPC
Racing's #36 car finished in first place (15th overall) for the second
consecutive event followed by the TPC Racing (19th overall) #38 car and
the Powell Motorsport (22nd overall) #07 Corvette in third.

(May
22) -- The Grand-Am Cup Series race began at 2:00 pm on Saturday with
a 250mile/95-lap/3 hour limit. The Mont-Tremblant 2.65-mile road
course had 47 cars in competition with 27 competing in the GS class.
The 92-lap race reached the three hour time limit first with Devon
Powell and Terry Borcheller crossing the finish line first overall in
the Sunoco/Powell Motorsport sponsored Cadillac CTS-V #11 in the GS
class. For Borcheller, it was his fourth straight first place finish
and his first of the season with new teammate Devon Powell. The duo
was followed to the line by Greg Wilkins and Robert Julien in the
Doncaster Racing #91 Porsche 996 and David Shep and Kenny Wilden
driving the Rehegen Racing #58 Mustang Cobra SVT. It was later
determined that the first and third place teams were in violation of
the fuel capacity guidelines which resulted in the teams being awarded
the 28th and 29th place points but retaining their finishing
positions. The penalty was costly to Borcheller after capturing three
straight win to begin the season, the 28th place points dropped him to
second in the driver standings behind Craig Stanton, who was
Borcheller's teammate for the first three event wins. Stanton, along
with new teammate David Murry finished in fifth place in
TheRaceSite.com Racing Porsche 996.
