LAKEVILLE,
IN (November 1) -- The Pennzoil World of Outlaws season will complete
it's arduous 10-month schedule this weekend in Las Vegas, as Team-Hoosier seeks
to punctuate their most successful season ever by running their
end-of-season HOT streak to nine wins in a row.
Coming off two of the most
dominating performances of the season in which Hoosier-shod drivers
swept the top seven places at Texas and Oklahoma, including capturing
nine of the top ten in both events, momentum is definitely on the side
of teams using the Hoosier brand.
The Texas and Oklahoma results
were eerily similar in that, teams using Hoosier tires posted the
three fastest qualifying times in both events, won all
seven O'Reilly Auto Parts heat races contested, won both
Channellock Dash races, and capped both nights by finishing
1-2-3-4-5-6-7 in the A-main, as nine of the top ten finishers were
members of Team-Hoosier. Joey Saldana won in Texas while Danny Wood
won in Oklahoma, as both drivers were using a Hoosier
RD12(left)/D12(right) combination.
But that does not tell the whole story, as the last
four Outlaws races have ended in a 1-2-3 Hoosier finish. All told,
Team-Hoosier has recorded 32, 1-2-3 sweeps during 97 nights of
competition. Hoosier also currently has a seven race win streak
entering the Season Finale in Las Vegas, as well as, winning 13 of the
last 16 races.
If that is not convincing enough, how about this, the
last time the circuit was in Las Vegas in March for three nights of
racing, all three nights were won by drivers on the Hoosier brand.
Andy Hillenburg won the opener, while Danny Wood won the second night,
leading a Hoosier 1-2-3 finish. Danny Lasoski captured the win on the
final night and also led a 1-2-3 Hoosier finish at the stripe.
Highlighting this year's Team-Hoosier performance,
Hoosier tires have been on 60 of the 97 Pennzoil World of Outlaws
winners, 74 of the runner-up finishers, and 61 of the third place
finishers.
QUOTES: Hoosier sprint tire product
manager, Neil Cowman, who will be in attendance at the final two races
in Las Vegas commented, "We could not be more pleased heading to
Las Vegas. Team-Hoosier has won the last seven events, 13 of the last
16, amassing 60 wins in 97 events, posting 32, 1-2-3 finishes, as
Danny (Lasoski), Mark (Kinser), Steve (Kinser) and Craig (Dollansky),
stand atop the series points chase using Hoosier tires, I guess you
could say, it's been a great year for Hoosier."
ADDITIONAL NOTES:
Danny Lasoski holds a slim 21 point advantage over
Mark Kinser heading into the weekend in which the 2001 Pennzoil World
of Outlaws champion will be
crowned.
The Season Finale in Las Vegas will be broadcast live
on SprintCarNet.com beginning at 11 PM eastern time on Friday and
Saturday. TNN is scheduled to tape Friday's race and air the program
on Sunday, November 4, at 3 PM eastern time. Hoosier Racing Tire Corp. would
like to thank all the World of Outlaws teams, owners, drivers and fans
for
making the 2001 season so successful.
