LAKEVILLE, IN -- Hoosier tires continue to be the overwhelming "tire of
choice" by teams competing in the Pennzoil World of Outlaws
Series. And that choice has been paying off in a big way for many
teams. After taking the top 11 in last Friday's opener at Devil's Bowl
Speedway, Hoosier-shod teams finished 1-2-3-4 in the A-main on
Saturday and repeated the feat Sunday at State Fair Speedway. In the
ten Pennzoil World of Outlaws races contested in 2002, Team-Hoosier
has nine wins, nine runner-up finishes, and ten third place
finishes.
This weekend's scenario is playing out just
like the last one, with the series traveling to two tracks where
Team-Hoosier was undefeated at last season. First, it's Houston
Raceway Park for two nights of racing where Mark Kinser won once and
Steve Kinser twice at the 4/10-mile oval on Hoosier rubber. Then, it's
on to Mississippi's Pike County Speedway where Mark Kinser won the
lone event there last season. So, the future continues to look
bright for teams riding on Hoosier tires in sprint racing's premier
series. Currently, the top four drivers in the Pennzoil World of Outlaws point standings use
Hoosier tires. Steve Kinser (1006) is in first place, followed by Danny
Lasoski (1000), Mark Kinser (995), and Joey Saldana (951). In addition to the top
four spots, eight of the top ten drivers in the point standings ride
on Hoosier tires. Hoosier Open Wheel Dirt Product
Manager Neil Cowman commented, "We are extremely pleased with the
early season results of our sprint tire line in the World of Outlaws
and in Pennsylvania where Hoosier-shod teams are undefeated in five
events at Williams Grove and Lincoln Speedway." Cowman
added, "We are continuing our efforts to maintain the level of
success we have enjoyed the past couple of years by continuing our
extensive testing and evaluation program." Cowman also confided,
"Many people may not be aware of this, but our engineers have
attended half of the World of Outlaws races this year--even while
Team-Hoosier is winning 90% of the races in the series." Hoosier
Racing Tire Corp. appreciates all the teams, drivers, and fans who
have supported our efforts to provide the best sprint tires in the
world. Hoosier tires are, and have always been, proudly "Made in
the USA." |
