LAKEVILLE, IN -- Since the season began, Team-Hoosier has amassed a
phenomenal 13-2 record in the Pennzoil World of Outlaws Series. That
record looks to become even more lopsided on Friday and Saturday with
the series traveling to Texas Motor Speedway where the Hoosier brand
was undefeated in 2001. In last year's Southern Bleacher Classic,
Mark Kinser bolted on Hoosier tires in both night's feature races.
Kinser won both nights and went on to challenge for the series title,
falling just short to eventual champion Danny Lasoski, who also rode
on Hoosier tires. Just how good has the 2002 sprint car season
been for teams using Hoosier tires? In Pennsylvania, at Lincoln,
Williams Grove and Port Royal Speedways, Team-Hoosier is undefeated at
10-0. And with last night's top eight sweep in the Gumout opener at
lone Star Speedway in which Danny Lasoski captured the win,
Team-Hoosier now boasts an amazing 24-2 overall record in sprint
racing's premier forums.
Beyond the two-night stop in Texas, the outlook in the Pennzoil
World of Outlaws looks bright for teams using Hoosier tires since
Hoosier-shod teams won 16 of the 18 races contested last year at the
next five tracks on the Outlaws schedule. Hoosier Open Wheel Dirt Product
Manager Neil Cowman commented, "We are very pleased with the way
the tires are performing so far." Cowman continued, "Even
though teams using Hoosier tires are winning over 90% of the races, we
continue to send members of our engineering staff to monitor the tires
and answer any questions the teams might have." |
