LAKEVILLE, IN -- Teams using Hoosier tires in the Pennzoil World of Outlaws Series
continue to reap the rewards of riding atop the #1 tire in sprint
racing. This past weekend, Brad Furr led an "all-Hoosier"
sweep of the top eight in the Southern Bleacher Classic as
Team-Hoosier captured 15 of the top 16 spots in the 30-lap feature.
The series now moves to Eldora Speedway where Team-Hoosier won five of
the six races contested last season. Mark Kinser and Andy Hillenburg
each won twice at Eldora in 2001, with Steve Kinser also picking up a
win on the Hoosier-friendly 1/2-mile. In fact, the next four stops on the
Outlaws trail are all tracks where Hoosier tires dominated last
season. Team-Hoosier won 11 of 12 races contested at Talladega, Kansas
City, Knoxville and Greenwood, Nebraska in 2001.
Continuing the trend after 16 races this season, Team-Hoosier has
amassed a stellar 14-2 mark against all other tire manufacturers in
sprint racing's premier series. On top of that accomplishment, Hoosier
remains undefeated in Pennsylvania at Lincoln, Williams Grove and Port
Royal Speedways where Team-Hoosier has compiled a sparkling 11-0
record. Combine that with their 9-0 record in the All Star Circuit of
Champions and sweep of the top eight positions in the Gumout opener in
Texas and the mark reaches a staggering 35-2 for teams opting to ride
on Hoosier tires. Given a winning percentage of 95%, one might think
that Hoosier Tire would be tempted to sit back and enjoy the view from
the top. But that's not the Hoosier way. Hoosier had a compound
engineer attend last weekend's Southern Bleacher Classic to answer
questions and evaluate tire performance, and this weekend Hoosier Open
Wheel Dirt Product Manager Neil Cowman will be in attendance at
Eldora. Cowman commented, "Although we are pleased with
our performance thus far, our entire organization remains committed to
continuing to provide the #1 tire in sprint racing." |
