LAKEVILLE, IN -- Although the Hoosier tire brand is winning better than nine out of
every ten races in the Pennzoil World of Outlaws Series, testing
continues with the goal of bolstering an already formidable tire line.
Hoosier Tire introduced the RD15 compound at the Summer Nationals at
Williams Grove last weekend and the new compound was in the winner's
circle all three nights. Team-Hoosier, coming off an undefeated month
of July, looks to build on an already sparkling 58-4 record in sprint
racing's elite series heading into "The Night Before The Big
One" this Friday at Eldora Speedway. On the heals of their 45th
1-2-3 finish of the season this past Wednesday at Sharon Speedway,
Team-Hoosier heads to the "Big-E" on a record setting
27-race win streak. At Sharon Speedway, Joey Saldana led every lap of
the 30-lap feature using an RD15 right rear tire en route to the win.
The new compound has now won four of the last five races in the
Pennzoil World of Outlaws. Team-Hoosier is gunning for its third
consecutive Pennzoil World of Outlaws championship after Steve Kinser
gave the Hoosier organization its first-ever series championship in
2000 and Danny Lasoski followed that historical feat up by winning the
championship last season on Hoosier tires. Hopes for a
three-peat are looking good as nine of the top ten drivers in the
Pennzoil World of Outlaws Series currently ride on the Hoosier brand.
Steve Kinser sits atop the standings followed by Danny Lasoski, Joey
Saldana, Craig Dollansky, Mark Kinser, Tim Shaffer, and Donny Schatz
in second through seventh, respectively. Brad Furr is in ninth place
and Randy Hannagan in tenth for Team-Hoosier. The Hoosier brand also
boasts an undefeated record in the Gumout Series at 11-0 in
stand-alone events and enjoys a phenomenal 61-0 record in 410
competition in Central Pennsylvania and a 26-6 record in the All Star
Sprint Series. Hoosier
Open Wheel Dirt Product Manager Neil Cowman will be at Eldora to
monitor the new RD15 compound and had this to say before departing, "The new RD15 compound has
really had an impact--winning four of the last five Outlaw races."
Cowman added, "I'm really looking forward to seeing the RD15
under race conditions at Eldora where we will have plenty of tires on
hand for all the competitors who might want to try the new
compound." Hoosier
Racing Tire Corp. appreciates all the teams, drivers, and fans who
have supported our efforts to provide the best sprint tires in the
world. Hoosier tires are, and have always been, proudly "Made in
the USA." |
