LAKEVILLE, IN -- Yet another Pennzoil World of Outlaws weekend
is in the books with Hoosier tires racking up more wins than any other
tire manufacturer in the world. Team-Hoosier enters the 4-day
Knoxville Nationals on a 28-race win streak after completing an
undefeated month of July in sprint racing's premier series. The
pressure continues to be placed squarely on the other tire brands as
Hoosier continues to roll out even more weapons in their already
powerful arsenal. After successful laboratory and track testing, the
new RD15 compound burst onto the sprint racing scene winning five of
the last six races in the Pennzoil World of Outlaws Series and will
most likely play a roll in the competition at Knoxville as well. Team-Hoosier
has now amassed a phenomenal 59-4 record in the Pennzoil World of
Outlaws Series with 28 consecutive wins. On top of that, they have
finished 1-2-3 in 46 of the 63 races contested to date in the
series. Add to that, the perfect 13-0 record in the Gumout
Series, the 27-6 record in the All Star Sprint Series, and the 64-0
record in Central Pennsylvania and the accomplishment of Hoosier and
the many teams riding on the product and you get a glimpse of the
success the Hoosier brand has enjoyed in 2002. Overall, that is 163
wins in 173 races. The Outlaws
have raced at Knoxville Raceway three times before in 2002, with three
different winners. The one commonality was all three rode on Hoosier
tires. Steve Kinser won in late April, while Joey Saldana and Danny
Lasoski were winners in late June. Currently, the top seven drivers
in the Pennzoil World of Outlaws Series ride on Hoosier tires and 11
of the top 12 drivers overall. Steve Kinser, who gave the Hoosier
brand their first-ever Outlaws championship in 2000, is in first place
in the standings followed by Joey Saldana, Craig Dollansky, Danny
Lasoski, Mark Kinser, Tim Shaffer and Donny Schatz in second through
seventh, respectively. Having just completed yet another
successful tire test this past Monday, Hoosier
Open Wheel Dirt Product Manager Neil Cowman commented before leaving
for Knoxville, "This will be a very good test for us. With four
nights of competition, the Hoosier product line should be put to the
test." Cowman added, "The new RD15 compound could once again
be a factor. Todd Seitz (Hoosier's Track Service Manager for the
Outlaws Series) returned to the warehouse after the Eldora swing to
have the Outlaws trailer reloaded to have plenty of tires on hand for
the entire Knoxville event." Hoosier
Racing Tire Corp. appreciates all the teams, drivers, and fans who
have supported our efforts to provide the best sprint tires in the
world. Hoosier tires are, and have always been, proudly "Made in
the USA." |
