ZHUHAI,
CHINA (November 12-14) -- The Supercar Challenge Series which competes
in China completed its 2004 season in Zhuhai, China over the weekend
with Ray Li winning the Overall Class A championship in his first-ever
season riding on Hoosier racing tires. Li, from Hong Kong, surprised
the competition riding on Hoosier R3S04 tires throughout the season
driving for Team Carrera Motorsports.
Li reported that engineers from the other competing
tire companies were on hand closely scrutinizing the USA-made Hoosier
tires which had won the previous two rounds of competition entering
the final weekend of racing. The champion driver stated the engineers
were making sure the Hoosier tires were, in fact, D.O.T. tires as
required by series rules. The Hoosiers proved dominant on the circuit
throughout the entire season. So much so, there was talk they might be
banned. Luckily, that did not happen and Li put the Hoosier brand atop
the podium.
In addition to Li winning the Overall Class A title,
the runner-up finisher and the fifth place finisher in the
final class standings also rode on the Hoosier tire brand, as well as,
the Overall Class C champion. In addition to
being a champion driver, Li has also become Hoosier's Distributor for
Hong Kong and China.
Hoosier Racing Tire Corp. extends its congratulations
to Ray on winning the 2004 Supercar Challenge Series Overall Class A
championship.
