CLAREMONT,
NH (October 10, 2010) -- Teddy Hodgdon clinched the Hoosier Tire Challenge
Series Championship last weekend with his second place finish at the Twin
State Speedway in Claremont, NH. The Hoosier Tire Challenge is an
end-of-the-season, three race series for the Ceric Fabrication Kart Series.
The first race was held September 9th at
Stafford Motor Speedway in CT. Hodgdon qualified second among the 17 karts on
hand. The Danbury, CT driver, who was just .004 seconds from capturing the
pole, ran a strong race to take the victory. It was Hodgdon's second Feature
win at Stafford this season.
The second event was contested October 9th at RT.
106 Race Park in Pembroke, NH. The #28 kart qualified 4th among 9 karts.
Hodgdon had a good run finishing 2nd and extending his point lead in the
Hoosier Tire Challenge Series Championship heading into the final event.
The third and final race was held the following
day at Twin State Speedway in Claremont, NH. Hodgdon brought a 6 point lead to
the fast high-banked track. The young driver got off to a good start by taking
the pole in qualifying with a time of 10.37 seconds.
Despite starting from the pole, Hodgdon drifted
back to sixth (and out of the point lead) before making his charge back to the
front. He made it all the way back to second and was challenging for the win
but ultimately settled for another second place finish. However, the runner-up
finish was good enough to win the overall Hoosier Tire Challenge Series
Championship.
