LAKEVILLE,
IN (May 24, 2012) -- For years, Hoosier Racing Tire has been a staple at the
famed 1/2-mile clay oval of Eldora Speedway by propelling race teams to victory
lane with quality built racing tires. Officials
from the Lakeville, IN-based tire company are now looking forward to the
opportunity to continue that tradition on Eldora’s latest addition, Little
Eldora Speedway. “Little E” is a 1/7 mile clay oval kart track located in
the shadows of the historic “Big E” oval.
The opportunity for Hoosier to
showcase their new D30A kart tires will be at the Hoosier Hotshoe Classic,
which is tentatively slated for Saturday evening, June 23rd. Four dirt kart
classes have been selected to utilize Hoosier Kart Tires for the first time in
Little Eldora’s brief three-year history. It will also mark the first night
race for Little Eldora, with temporary lighting brought into the facility that
traditionally runs during the daytime on Sunday afternoons.
“We are excited about this
race and the introduction of product to the dirt kart racers at Little
Eldora”, said Adam Batton, Kart Product Manager at Hoosier Racing Tire.
“Our product speaks for itself on the famous Big E and now we have the
chance to prove ourselves on what we feel is the training ground for
tomorrow’s superstars.”
Of the seventeen classes of
karts at the Hoosier Hotshoe Classic, four will be mandated to use the Hoosier
D30A compound on the right side. Headlining those four will be The Senior
Medium class with a $1,500 winner’s payoff at stake. Offering $200-to-win
will be the Senior Heavy, Clone Heavy and Clone Lite classes.
Batton added, “We have been
in the karting business for many years now and the word is spreading about the
quality of our offerings. But the success of our product line will certainly be
augmented by getting involved with a high profile facility like Eldora
Speedway." Batton concluded, "We
are truly looking forward to this event.”
The Senior Medium chase for
big money will see a slight alteration to their racing format.
A traditional pill draw will line up the karts into their two rounds of
heat races with the results of those heats lining the karts up into qualifying
features by points. The top four
finishers from each qualifying feature will advance into the Hoosier Hotshoe
Classic with the final two starters to be determined via a random draw from the
non-qualifiers.
Each of the other classes that evening
will go by their standard race format.
