LAKEVILLE,
IN (July 9, 2009) -- Last year was a breakthrough season for Justin Allgaier. The
23-year-old driver captured the ARCA RE/MAX Series championship breaking an eight-year
reign by Frank Kimmel.
Allgaier, the son of Hoosier Tire Midwest owners Mike and Dorothy Allgaier,
won six of 21 races last year including the final race of the season. Allgaier
was crowned the ARCA Series champion after winning the season-ending race which
catapuled him from third to first in the final standings.
It was during this breakthrough season that young Allgaier signed on to
drive the #12 Penske Racing Dodge full time in 2009 in the Nationwide
Series.
This season has been nothing short of phenomenal for the young rookie
driver. After 16 events, Allgaier ranks 6th in the Nationwide Series driver
standings--the top ranking rookie in the series.
The 6th place ranking is even more impressive given the fact that three of
the five drivers in front of him are Sprint Cup regulars including Kyle Busch,
Carl Edwards and Joey Logano.
Allgaier, who hails from Riverton, IL, will be searching for his first win
of the season this Friday night at Chicagoland Speedway in Dollar General 300.
Hoosier Racing Tire Corp. would like congratulate Justin on the success he
has achieved so far this season in the Nationwide Series.
It has been our privilege to watch Justin grow up from a novice 5-year-old
quarter midget racer to the skilled driver he has worked so hard to
become.
