Lakeville, IN  (Aug. 11, 2008) - Andy Lally in the No. 41, Porsche 997, withstood several challenges from Craig Stanton late in the Casey's General Stores KONI Challenge race in Grand-Am KONI Challenge Series Grand Sport (GS) competition Sunday to give himself and co-driver/polesitter, Scott Schroeder, and the Carlsen Porsche / Cohen Financial team their first victory of the season.

In the one hundred and fifty-seven lap race, Lally led three times for 61 laps, including the final 11, and held off a hard-charging Craig Stanton, on the 1.3 mile road course.  Stanton led for three laps in the final half hour of the race before Lally returned to the point for good on Lap 147.

Stanton tried to get by several times at the end, but was starving for fuel during the last handful of laps and instead cruised to second, 3.063 seconds behind. It was the best finish for Stanton and the No. 83 BGB Motorsports Performance Drink Porsche 997 team, so far this season.

Bill Auberlen was also part of the lead mix, and ended up taking third in the race with Matthew Alhadeff in the No. 97 Turner Motorsport BMW M3.

In fourth place were Bret Seafuse and James Gue in the No. 37, Mustang GT.

Rounding out the top five were defending series co-champions and current point co-leaders Jeff Segal and Jep Thornton in the No. 09 Automatic Racing Imported Car Store/Land Air BMW M3.
