ABBOTTSTOWN,
PA (March 16) -- Fred Rahmer captured his first feature win of the
season Saturday at Lincoln Speedway in the #88H. The win maintained
undefeated status for Team-Hoosier at the famed Pennsylvania track.
Rahmer, using a Hoosier D10 left rear and a RD12 right rear, snatched
the race lead on the fifth lap and went on to lead the remainder of
the 25-lap event and collect the $2,500 winner's payout.
Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic's Bob Wirts reported 38 cars were on
hand for qualifying--29 on Hoosier tires.
All four preliminary heat races were won by teams using Hoosier
tires. Fred Rahmer, Keith Kauffman, Todd Shaffer and Jeff Shepard each
won their respective heat races.
Both Consolation races were also won by Hoosier-shod drivers.
Brook Weibley and Lance Dewease won their 10-lap races. In the
25-lap feature, 18 of the 24 starters used Hoosier tires. Fred Rahmer
used a Hoosier D10/RD12 combination to take over the the race lead on
lap number five. Rahmer then led the remainder of the way en route to
picking up his first win of the season and the 113th of his
career.
Keith Kauffman wound up second using the same compound combination
as Rahmer. Eight of the top ten finishers used Hoosier rubber.
Rounding out the list of top ten finishers were: Bobby Weaver
(D10/RD12), fourth; Lance Dewease (RD12/RD12), fifth; Donnie Kreitz,
Jr. (D10/RD12), sixth; Todd Shaffer (D10/D12), seventh; Jeff Shepard
(RD12/RD12), ninth; and Mike Erdley (D10/D12), tenth.
Hoosier Open Wheel Dirt Product Manager Neil Cowman commented on
the weekend, "After recording our ninth win in ten events in the
Pennzoil World of Outlaws over the weekend and Fred (Rahmer) extending
our undefeated record at Lincoln Speedway, we (Team-Hoosier) are
really on a roll right now."
Racing resumes this Saturday March 23 at Lincoln Speedway for
their first show under the lights. Good luck to all the
