ABBOTTSTOWN,
PA (March 9) -- Lance Dewease won the 25-lap make-up feature at
Lincoln Speedway before rain forced the cancellation of the regular
program Saturday afternoon. Dewease took the race lead from Donnie
Kreitz, Jr. on lap 6 and then had to wait nearly two hours as rain
delayed the racing after the 13th circuit. But after the delay,
Dewease led the remainder of the way en route to the win and the
$2,500 paycheck. Hoosier-shod drivers captured the top six and eight
of the top ten positions in the feature.
In the feature,
18 of the 24 starters were riding on USA-made Hoosier tires. Following
Dewease to the finish line were: Donnie Kreitz, Jr., second; Todd
Shaffer, third; Jeff Shepard, fourth; Fred Rahmer, fifth; Johnny
Mackinson, Jr., sixth; Greg Hodnett, ninth; Niki Young, tenth. Hoosier
Tire Mid-Atlantic's Bob Wirts reported track conditions were damp and
somewhat "easy" on tires. Those conditions resulted in all
the Hoosier-shod drivers opting for a pair of D10's for the 25-lap
race. Racing resumes Saturday, March 16, at Lincoln Speedway. |
