RIO
LINDA, CA (August 6-14, 2010) -- With Hoosier D10s on all four corners,
8-year-old Andrew Loveless not only set fast time but went on to win the A Main
event in the Jr Honda class at the 2010 QMA Dirt Grand Nationals in Rio Linda,
CA earlier this month.
In qualifying, the young hot shoe had the field
covered by better than a tenth with a lap of 7.31 seconds on the loose, tricky
track. Track conditions remained the same for the 30-lap A Main where Andrew
again found success.
In less than 10 laps, Loveless piloted his
Hoosier clad GT American quarter midget to the front taking the lead on the
back stretch after a restart. He then motored on to a comfortable win nearly a
full straightaway ahead of the second place finisher.
“It was really fun, but it was really hard. I’m
just happy I won,” said Andrew when interviewed by Debi Supan of
QuarterMidgets.com immediately after his first Grand National win.
Andrew’s father and crew chief Ken Loveless
Jr. said, “Thanks to Tim Gerhardt of Hoosier Tire West for the contingency
award! Hoosier Tire West offered up a set of right sides for fast time and the
main event win."
The proud father continued, "That played no
part in my decision to run Hoosiers. The D10 was the best tire for the track
and we had one on all four corners."
Loveless added, "Hoosier
tires played a huge role in our track championship last year and I really
believe that gave us an edge at this year's Dirt Grands.”
Andrew returns to the site of his big win for the final
leg of the region 10 championship series on October 9th and 10th.
Loveless concluded, "With the cooler weather setting
in, there's no doubt in my mind that you'll need Hoosiers to run up
front."
