LAKEVILLE,
IN (June 20, 2008) -- Father's Day weekend proved to be a successful one for
late model dirt drivers using Hoosier tires in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt
Series. The Series contested three races on three consecutive nights with all
three winners riding on the Hoosier brand. Shane Clanton (photo), Dan Schlieper
and Chris Madden each captured wins using Hoosier late model dirt tires.
On Thursday, Shane Clanton led 38 of 40 laps en route to his first Lucas Oil
Dirt Series win of the season. The 32-year-old Locust Grove, GA driver pocketed
$7,000 with the win at Duck River Speedway in Wheel, Tennessee. Clanton's win
came while using Hoosier's new 11.0/88.0-15 C4000 left rear tire.
On Friday, the series traveled to North Georgia Speedway in Chatsworth to
contest a $10,000-to-win race. Dan Schlieper started on the outside pole for
the 50-lap race. The Sullivan, WI driver immediately jumped into the lead at
the drop of the green flag. Schlieper, also using Hoosier's new 11.0/88.0-15
C4000 left rear tire, went on to lead all 50 laps en route to pocketing the
$10,000 win.
The three-win streak for Team Hoosier was capped off Saturday when Chris
Madden took the win at the Talladega Short Track in Alabama. Madden took the
lead on lap 13 and led the remainder of the distance to capture the 50-lap win.
The Grey Court, SC driver collected $10,000 for the win. The 33-year-old Madden
also became the 15th different winner in the 20 races contested this year in
the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series.
When the three races were over, Hoosier-shod drivers had captured eight of
the 11 heat race wins and set fast time all three nights. Billy Drake set fast
time at Duck River, while Shane Clanton was the fastest qualifier at both North
Georgia Speedway and the Talladega Short Track
All three events were also won by drivers using three different chassis
brands all mounted atop Hoosier tires. (Shane Clanton-Rocket Chassis, Dan
