GEORGIA
(October 3-4, 2008) -- The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series completed its 2008
season with two races in Georgia this past weekend. Like many this season, both races
ended with Hoosier-shod drivers in the winner's circle. Earl Pearson, Jr. won Friday night
at Rome Speedway, while Shannon Babb won at Dixie Speedway on Saturday in the series'
finale. In the points standings, Earl Pearson, Jr. rode on Hoosier tires en
route to capturing his fourth consecutive Lucas Oil Late
Model Dirt championship. All four of Pearson's titles came wile riding on Hoosiers.
Additionally, Terry Casey won Rookie-of-the-Year honors on the purple tire brand finishing
seventh overall in points.
ROME, GA (October 3, 2008) -- Fifty-five cars filled the pits at Rome
Speedway for Friday's 50-lap feature. Billy Moyer set a new
track record in qualifying circling the half-mile track in a scant 12.789
seconds on Hoosier tires.
Team Hoosier really flexed its muscle in heat race action by winning all four
races. Heat race winners included; Billy Moyer, Shane Clanton, Chris Madden and
Earl Pearson, Jr.
Pearson won his heat using Hoosier's 1350 compound and then bolted on his
reliable standby, Hoosier's M40/1600 compound, for his 50-lap feature win. It
was Pearson's fourth feature win of the season.
WOODSTOCK, GA (October 4, 2008) -- Forty-six late models were on hand
Saturday for the season-ending race at Dixie Speedway. For the 2nd night in a
row, a Hoosier-shod driver set a new track record in qualifying. This time,
Earl Pearson, Jr. smashed the old mark circling the 3/8-mile oval in 13.893
seconds.
In heat race action three of the four winners rode atop the Hoosier brand.
Heat race winners using Hoosier tires included; Josh McGuire, Scott Bloomquist
and
Shane Clanton.
In the 50-lap feature, Shannon Babb took the lead from Scott Bloomquist on
lap 47 en route to winning his third career Dixie Shootout.
With the season at an end, Earl Pearson, Jr. was named the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series
champion. It was Pearson's fourth consecutive series championship competing on Hoosier racing
tires.
Ohio's Bart Hartman also returned to Lucas Oil competition this year finishing
second in the final point standings on Hoosier tires.
All told, eight of the top ten drivers in the final Lucas Oil Late Model
Dirt Series driver standings used the Hoosier brand.
Wisconsin's Terry Casey also won the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series
Rookie-of-the-Year title while finishing seventh overall on Hoosiers tires.
Hoosier Late Model Dirt Product manager Shanon Rush commented, "On
behalf of everyone at Hoosier, we congratulate Earl, Bart and Terry and all the
Lucas Oil Series competitors who chose to compete on Hoosier tires."

definitely a hard-fought battle all season, but I couldn't ask for better

the entire year."
