1950

Bob Newton began personal racing career.

1957

Company founded by Bob and Joyce Newton producing racing retreads.

1962 First new tire produced.
1979 Constructed first race tire factory in Indiana - world's first factory exclusively devoted to the production of racing tires. The company was named R&J Manufacturing Corp., (after Robert & Joyce Newton).
1985 Tech Center established.
1988 Nine NASCAR Winston Cup events won on Hoosier racing tires.
1989 NASCAR Daytona 500 won on Hoosier racing tires.
1989 Withdrew from NASCAR racing to begin 3-year radial R & D program.
1989 Agreement to introduce Hoosier High Performance Street Radial line of street tires through General Tire distribution system.
1989 Entered drag racing as NHRA and IHRA major sponsor.
1991 Hoosier Racing Tire returns to NASCAR Busch Grand National Competition.
1991 Established world record in Pro Stock - first car under 7 seconds.
1991 New factory built for new "Z" - Calendering line. Hoosier Racing Tire now has total 'in-house" control over all race tire fabrication processes.
1992 Hoosier Racing Tire named USAC "Spec Tire" for midgets and sprints.
1992 Built world's first new factory dedicated exclusively to the production of radial race tires.
1994 Re-Entered NASCAR's Winston Cup Circuit, winning 4 races with Geoff Bodine. Hoosier tires were also on the car of pole sitter Rick Mast in the inaugural running of the Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis.
1994 Decision made to withdraw from Winston Cup circuit due to cost ramifications of race "tire counts".
1995 Hoosier signs 3 year deal with the ARCA Series to be the "Spec Tire" for all series events.
1996

Tony Stewart becomes the 1st driver ever to win the Triple Crown of USAC racing, all on Hoosier tires. Stewart won in Midgets, Sprint and Silver Crown cars.

1998 Changed name of R&J Manufacturing Corp. to Hoosier Tire & Rubber Corp.
1998 Entered into agreement with Kelly Springfield to produce complete line of Hoosier Performance Street Tires.
1998 Hoosier renews exclusive contract with ARCA Series to be the "Spec Tire" for all series events for another 3 years.
1999 The new Hoosier Performance Street Tire line hits the street on January 1.
1999 15-Time World of Outlaws Champion, Steve Kinser, signs exclusive contract  to run Hoosier tires in the 2000 World of Outlaws series.
2000 Hoosier Tire and Rubber completes consolidation/expansion program in Plymouth, IN manufacturing facility.
2000 For the second straight year, more SCCA Amateur Championships are won on Hoosier tires than all other manufacturers combined.
2000 Hoosier wins more NHRA Sportsman Drag Racing National Events than all other participating tire companies combined, capturing 92 of 175 events.
2000 Steve Kinser, "The King of the Outlaws", drives Hoosier tires to his 16th World of Outlaws Championship and the first for the Indiana-based tire manufacturer.
2000 Bob Newton receives 410 Sprint "Manufacturer of the Year Award" from the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame Museum.
2000 Hoosier renews exclusive contract with ARCA Series to be the "Spec Tire" for all series events for another 3 years.
2001 Danny Lasoski wins his 1st World of Outlaws Championship while riding on Hoosier tires and giving Hoosier its second consecutive series title. 
2001 Bob Newton receives 410 Sprint "Manufacturer of the Year Award" for the 2nd consecutive year from the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame Museum.
2001 Signs exclusive tire supply agreements with NASCAR  for the Winston West, RE/MAX, and All-Pro Touring Series.
2002 Hoosier claims 3rd consecutive World of Outlaws Series championship when Steve Kinser captures the title on Hoosier tires. The Hoosier brand won 90 of 96 races in the series in 2002.
2002 Bob Newton receives 410 Sprint "Manufacturer of the Year Award" for the 3rd consecutive year from the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame Museum.
2002 Hoosier takes over "in-house" control over its international race tire sales.
2002 Hoosier closes its Hoosier Performance Tire division exiting the passenger tire market.
2003 Signs exclusive tire supply agreements with NASCAR for the Modified Series, Southwest Series, Southeast Series, Northwest Series and Midwest Touring Series.
2003 Hoosier renews exclusive contract with ARCA Series to be the "Spec Tire" for all series events for another 3 years.
2003 Hoosier claims 4th consecutive World of Outlaws Series championship when Steve Kinser captured his 18th series title on Hoosier tires. The Hoosier brand won 88 of 92 races in the series in 2003.
2003 J.J. Yeley wins the USAC "Triple Crown" joining Tony Stewart (1995) as the only Triple-Crown winners in the history of the series. Ironically, both drivers won their championships riding on Hoosier tires. 
2003 Hoosier announces it will enter the Karting & Quarter Midget markets in 2004. 
2004 Hoosier and the Grand American Road Racing Association enter into a 3-year agreement naming Hoosier as the exclusive tire provider to both the Rolex Series and the Grand-Am Cup Series through the 2007 season. 
2004 Hoosier claims 5th consecutive World of Outlaws Series championship with Steve Kinser capturing his 19th series title on Hoosier tires. The Hoosier brand won 88 of 89 races in the series in 2004. 
2005 The Hoosier brand claims its 6th consecutive World of Outlaws Series championship with Steve Kinser capturing his record 20th series title on Hoosier tires. The Hoosier brand was 90-1 in the series in 2005.
