PHOENIX,
AZ (February 3) -- The NASCAR Featherlite Southwest Series began its
season earlier this month at Phoenix International Raceway with
Hoosier tires making their debut in the NASCAR Elite Division series.
Bryan Germone captured the win in the 100-lap race after taking the
lead from pole-sitter Ken Schrader on lap 80. Germone led the
remainder of the way to take the win and collect $10,000.
Forty-two cars were scheduled to start the race with

the Bud Pole Award for his lap of 27.615 seconds (130.364 mph). At the
drop of the green flag, Schrader immediately jumped out into the race
lead. Schrader was in command until lap 80, when 17th starting Bryan

over the race lead. Germone held on for the win and happily pocketed
the $10,000 top prize.
