ELKO,
MN (May 17) -- Kevin Cywinski returned to NASCAR RE/MAX competition in
grand style by winning the 250-lap Windsor Windows 250 at Elko
Speedway Friday night. Cywinski, who started sixth in the field,
collected $6,100 for the win on the 3/8-mile oval.
Thirty cars attempted to make the 26-car field. Dan
Frederickson captured the Bud Pole Award after recording a qualifying
lap in 13.894 seconds (97.164 mph).
Steve Carlson, Dan Frederickson, Pete Moore, Josh
Vadnais, and, of course, Kevin Cywinski each led the race at different
times. Cywinski was the only member of the group to lead more than
once. Cywinski took the race lead on lap 92 over Vadnais and led the
remainder of the way to take the win.
Defending series champion Steve Carlson finished in
second place. Brian Hoppe took third after starting 19th. Eddie
Hoffman and Pete Menard rounded out the top five. A total of nine
drivers finished the race on the lead lap.
Eddie Hoffman leads the series standings with 330
points followed by Steve Carlson with 316 points as the series heads
to Wisconsin Dells, WI on Monday, May 27 for their next race.
