In the NASCAR Southeast Series, Jeff Fultz won the "Kentucky 150" at Kentucky Speedway Friday night. Fultz, who started fourth, led 96 of the 107 race laps to capture the win and collect $11,000. On Saturday in the NASCAR Midwest Series, Justin Diercks (photo) made it two in a row winning the "Kwik Trip Glazers 150" at LaCrosse (WI) Fairgrounds Speedway. Diercks led all but the first lap of the 150-lap race en route to his second win of the season. The Davenport, IA driver pocketed $3,835 for his efforts. Hoosier Oval Asphalt Product Manager Terry Newton attended the race where all the competitors rode on Hoosier's 2220 left side and 2240 right side tires. This same combination will be used in all but two of the series' 13 races this season.

NASCAR SOUTHEAST SERIES

Jeff FultzSPARTA, KY (June 18) -- Twenty-six drivers took the green flag Friday evening with Erik Darnell on the pole after claiming the Bud Pole Award as the fastest qualifier. Darnell led the race's first 13 circuits before giving way to fourth starting Jeff Fultz. Fultz, a winner of six races last season, led the remainder of the distance (94 laps) to claim his second win of the year.

Fultz, from Cincinnati, OH, was followed to the finish line by Chris Davidson of Texas and previous race winner J.R Norris in second and third, respectively. The margin of victory was .262 seconds. Robert Richardson III, Kevin Prince and Greg Pope finished fourth through sixth and completed the list of lead-lap finishers. The race had three cautions for a total of 18 laps. It was the second event of the season the series has used Hoosier's 2053 left side and 2170 right side tires.

With the win, Jeff Fultz leaps from third place to first place in the driver rankings followed by Jason Hogan and J.R. Norris.

The NASCAR Southeast Series will be back in action July 1st, at Lanier National Speedway in Braselton, GA.

NASCAR MIDWEST SERIES

WEST SALEM, WI (June 19) -- Twenty-four cars started Saturday's Midwest Series race at Lacrosse (WI) Fairgrounds Speedway with Justin Diercks on the pole and Steve Carlson alongside.

Carlson led the race's first lap, before Diercks got tired of the view and moved to the front of the field where he stayed until the checkered flag waved on lap 150. Diercks collected $3,835 for the win.

Following Diercks to the line was Steve Carlson, Tim Schendel, Erik Darnell and Eric Fransen who charged from 12th place. Ryan Hansen, the Bud Pole Award winner, finished in sixth place--the last car on the lead lap. The race had just two cautions for a total of eight laps.

With the win, Justin Diercks is now tied with defending series champion Steve Carlson in the driver rankings with 510 points. Brian Hoppe is in third place with 473 points. Hoppe finished ninth in Saturday's race.

The NASCAR Midwest Series gets right back at it this weekend, June 27th, with a stop at Wisconsin's International Raceway for the rained out race that had been originally slated for May 31st.
